Karee Clothing Private Limited is the India-registered company behind the Karee brand. We are a premium limited edition women's clothing label made in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Every piece we make is cut from natural fabrics — cotton, linen, and breathable blends — in small, unrepeated runs. This page sets out how we source those materials, how our Jaipur studio operates, and what standards we hold ourselves and our suppliers to.
The parent company, Taro Designs UK Limited, is registered in England and Wales (Company Number: 13894733). In India, the operating entity is Karee Clothing Private Limited, registered in Kerala. All India sales, customer relationships, and operations run through Karee Clothing Private Limited.
Cotton and linen are the foundation of everything we make. Cotton breathes, absorbs moisture, and holds natural dyes well. Linen is one of the oldest cultivated fibres in the world — it becomes softer with every wash and holds its structure through Indian summers that would flatten polyester inside an hour.
We do not use synthetic fabrics. No polyester, no nylon, no elastane where it can be avoided. When a fabric in our range contains viscose — for example, in a linen-viscose blend — that is stated clearly on the product page and care label. We do not describe blended fabrics as purely natural. What you read on the label is what the garment is made of.
Buttons and fastenings where possible are wood, shell, or coconut — not plastic. Packaging is cardboard and paper. Nothing in our packaging is single-use plastic.
Our fabrics are sourced from suppliers across India, primarily in textile regions with established craft traditions. We work with suppliers who can provide material traceability — where the fibre came from, how it was processed, what dyes were used. We do not work with suppliers who use child labour or fail to meet the minimum wage standards required under Indian law.
Our Jaipur studio uses block printing traditions that have been practised in Rajasthan for centuries. The artisans who work in that studio are paid fairly. The block printing process uses natural and low-impact dyes where possible. Where a brighter or more durable dye is required, we use the most responsible available option and state the fabric composition accurately.
Every Karee piece is made in a limited run. This is not a marketing position — it is how the business is built. Small runs mean less overproduction, less fabric waste, and less unsold inventory. When a run sells out, we do not restock. The design closes. The fabric offcuts from each run are repurposed into small accessories — hairbands, ties — rather than discarded.
This model means we buy fabric in quantities matched to production. We are not cutting to fill warehouses. We are cutting to fill specific orders in a specific run, then stopping.

We are not a perfect operation and we do not claim to be. We are a small brand growing in India. The things we are actively working to improve: reducing the number of synthetic components in our packaging materials; increasing the proportion of certified organic cotton in our fabric mix; and expanding our supplier base to include more women-led textile producers in Rajasthan.
